Meanwhile Party and State policies have aimed at involving all economic sectors in education development.

Phung Quan, a lecturer of the University of Science of Vietnam National University HCMC, said he was interested in the national development orientations in the new period, the renovation of the education sector, and the development of human resources.

“The promulgation of new policies will drive the sector’s growth and encourage educators to innovate more. We need to invest in educational facilities in remote areas so people there will have access to innovations in less remote regions,” said Quan.

Nguyen Tran Ngoc Phuong, a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said he hopes more policies will steer the higher education sector in the right direction.

“We must devise mechanisms for universities to improve their research capacity and increase the international publication of the research. We must strengthen enforcement of national and international standards. Policies are needed to manage the workforce so as to avoid overcrowding in some industries,”  said  Phuong.
