(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s National Assembly TV Channel was inaugurated on Tuesday to mark the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election on January 6. President of the Voice of Vietnam Nguyen Dang Tien said that operating the channel is an honor and a great task for VOV. He said that the channel will cover the National Assembly’s constitution building, legislative work and supreme oversight: “The launch of the channel contributes to the development of Vietnam’s revolutionary press. It is an important information channel between the legislature and voters, which helps to communicate Party and state policies to improve the performance of the National Assembly and the political system. The channel will reflect the opinions and aspirations of voters nationwide as well as their concerns about all aspects of life.”

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son, and Editor-in-chief of the Nhan Dan newspaper Thuan Huu pressed the button to launch the channel.
The channel has been test broadcasting 5 hours a day on VOV TV since October, 2014.
