According to the report, which was released by the Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers' Association (APICCAPS), in 2020, Vietnam’s market share rose from 2 percent to 10.2 percent. It said that in the year, Vietnam exported about 1.2 billion pairs of shoes. It was followed by Indonesia with 366 million pairs, accounting for 3 percent of the market share. Meanwhile, China took the top position by providing 7.4 billion pairs of shoes to the market.
The World Footwear Yearbook 2021 showed that in 2020, about 12.1 billion pairs of shoes were provided to the world.
