Last year, the Departments of Industry and Trade of 63 provinces and cities organized more than 100 trade fairs in rural areas attracting about 2,000 businesses and 200,000 visitors, resulting in nearly 3.5 million USD in revenue.
Vo Thanh Thong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, called for more investment in auxiliary industry this year so that domestic production can develop sustainably and reduce dependence on imported material sources.
“It’s necessary to efficiently implement national brand development projects towards improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods globally. The final goal is to fully tap the domestic consumption power by encouraging more Vietnamese to prioritize made-in-Vietnam goods,” Thong said.
