Vietnamese peacekeepers awarded UN medal

(VOVWORLD) - All 63 members of Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No. 6 in South Sudan were presented with the United Nation’s Peacekeeping Medal at a ceremony on Tuesday for their contributions to the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), the world's humanitarian hotspot.

Mission Commander Lieutenant General Mohan Sabramanian addressed the ceremony, saying “They are doing really well. They are good professionals. They are increasing the impact the mission has on South Sudan. I can say this and it comes from the heart I mean this.”

“Vietnamese are sending a very professional officers to UNMISS and we are so happy for that. As I have this opportunity, I would also like to send my greetings to Vietnam and to thank your government for sending officers to UNMISS and for your contribution,” Lieutenant General Sabramanian added.

Receiving the award, Vietnamese peacekeepers are contributing to confirming Vietnam’s position, credibility, and responsibility in the joint effort to build a peaceful, stable, humanitarian world.
