Bang said this is the result of months of long negotiations within ASEAN and between ASEAN and its partners.

The highly important documents include ASEAN leaders' Statement on ASEAN Growth Center and ASEAN Leaders' Statement on food security stability. ASEAN leaders will also announce a framework agreement on developing a digital economy, and a statement on climate change combat, and will adopt a framework on a blue economic cooperation and a framework on protecting migrant workers’ rights.

Ambassador Bang said that Vietnam has substantially contributed to the initiatives that ASEAN has put forward for approval at the summit. The Vietnamese delegation to ASEAN directly engaged in negotiations of a joint declaration between ASEAN and its partners.

He said Vietnams' contributions to ASEAN cover all three pillars - politics, economic security and social culture.

“As the ASEAN Chair in 2020, Vietnam proposed that ASEAN look beyond and work out orientations post-2025. To continue implementing Vietnam’s initiative, at the summit, the leaders will adopt the Declaration on ASEAN Development Vision for the next 20 years to 2045,” according to the Vietnamese diplomat.

Bang added, “Vietnam has supported and contributed many practical ideas to building ASEAN's vision for the Indo-Pacific region. Vietnam's initiatives to maintain a peaceful and stable environment for ASEAN’s cooperation and development play very important role.”

The Vietnamese delegation has greatly contributed to the strengthening of people-to-people exchanges through promoting gender equality, supporting children, disadvantaged people, and vulnerable ones, declaring digital transformation in education, or standardizing education norms among ASEAN countries.
