(VOVworld) – “Vietnam – the Paradise of Sea and Island Tourism” is the theme of the 2016 Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) which is expected to draw more foreign tourists to Vietnam and help travel companies expand their cooperation.

Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien spoke at the opening ceremony of the fair in Hanoi on Wednesday:
“This event focuses on tours to Vietnam’s sea and islands, which promote the tourism sector’s competitiveness and make it more attractive to foreigners. VITM, I believe, will become a prestigious tourism event regionally and globally.”
In addition to thousands of beach tours, organizers also promote tours to the capital city Hanoi, the northwestern mountain region, the Central Highlands, and the South Central region, which are the main destinations of the 2016 National Tourism Year. Travel companies from 25 other countries and territories are showcasing their tourism products at the 4-day event.
Russian tourists are honored guests of the Mart, which is being attended by leaders of the Federal Tourism Administration, travel agencies, and journalists from Russia. Russian artists have been invited to perform at the event.
