The two Presidents then chaired a joint press briefing on the outcomes of the talk.

Mr. Thuong said the two Presidents agreed to further promote political and foreign affairs and maintain regular exchanges of delegations at all levels.

The two sides agreed to concertize the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the RoK, said President Thuong.

He called on both countries to work closely to heighten economic cooperation to raise bilateral trade to 100 billion USD and move toward 150 billion USD by 2030 in a balance and sustainable manner.

“Vietnam welcomes RoK businesses to invest and expand their investment, especially in priority areas including national key projects and BOT projects to build thermoelectric plants, liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants, high-tech electronics, semiconductors, big data, biotechnology, smart cities, and technology transfer to Vietnam,” said Mr. Thuong.

The two leaders said they were delighted at the signing of a cooperation agreement worth 2 billion USD through the Economic Development Promotion Facility (EDPF) to realize large-scale development investment projects in transport and urban infrastructure in Vietnam.

RoK President Yoon Suk Yeol said: "The two sides agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation in diplomacy and security and deepen the strategic relationship by establishing a new mechanism for periodic talks between the two foreign ministers following the recent consensus on a mechanism of periodic talks between the two defense ministers."

“The RoK government will support the improvement of Vietnam's maritime security and order capacity based on the memorandum of understanding on maritime security signed during this visit,” President Yoon added.

He said that the RoK will provide 200 million USD worth of non-refundable aid for environment, climate change, health development, education, and digital transformation for the 2024-2027 period.

A plan worth 30 million USD will be outlined to support joint research in Vietnam’s science and technology innovation in the next 10 years.
