According to Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs, Vietnam is committed to supporting free trade and global economic integration in the wake of rising protectionism in the globe, added that this forum is vital for Vietnam and other countries to step up international cooperation and sustainably develop the world economy.

“This year’s forum takes place with the global economy continuing to recover but trade protectionism is rising and tensions are escalated in many regions. Greater trust is needed between economic partners, governments, and people to boost global economic growth”, said Binh.
The Vietnamese delegation met with leaders of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Gazprom, a large Russian producer of natural gas, to review results of their cooperation and discuss the future of their partnership.
