According to National Assembly deputies, the new Constitution lists human rights in chapter 2, adding several new human rights, the rights to live, to donate tissues to private ownership, to enjoy and access cultural values.  Lieutenant General Le Phuc Nguyen, Editor-in-chief of the People’s Army Newspaper said: “Through comments and opinions from scholars and researchers, we can see that the revised Constitution has put human rights in an appropriate position. Scholars have clearly pointed out that we have closely followed international conventions on human rights; some of our regulations are even more advanced. So, opinions saying that the human rights mentioned in the revised Constitution are still far from the international standard for the human rights are groundless.”

To mark International Day for Human Rights, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, wrote an article on VN’s achievements in protecting and promoting human rights and its contributions to international cooperation in this field.
