(VOV) – Cities and provinces have organized events to promote the role of the elderly in society, present gifts, and assign volunteers to care for the elderly.
Dam Huu Dac, Vice President of the Association of the Elderly, says: "From 2011 to 2016, the Association has implemented two programs including Bright Eyes for the Elderly and the Elderly Involved in Protecting the Environment and Building New Rural Lifestyle. We hope the community will work together to help old people preserve their eyesight so they can continue to participate in social activities. Senior citizens have experience that can be useful to localities in building a new rural lifestyle."
