Vietnam introduces initiatives at AMM 54

(VOVWORLD) - The 54th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting has ended with fruitful results. The virtual meeting includes more than 20 conferences of ASEAN’s Foreign Ministers and their partners within the framework of the ASEAN+1, ASEAN+3, East Asia Summit and the ASEAN Regional Forum.

At a press conference, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung said Vietnam participated in AMM-54 with several initiatives and proposals. Many of its initiatives made in 2020 have been maintained in ASEAN’s agendas like connecting sub-region cooperation with ASEAN’s cooperation programs. ASEAN has brought into play its role in settling obstacles due to differences at the conferences. Vietnam worked closely with other countries to reach an agreement on Myanmar and make the UK’s full dialogue partner of ASEAN, strengthen ASEAN’s cooperation with partner countries who promised to help ASEAN in COVID-19 response and vaccine production technology transfer.
