Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chairs the government meeting on fighting Covid-19 on March 13, 2020

Speaking at a government meeting, Mr.  Phuc said fighting the disease is like fighting an enemy, adding that the good results Vietnam achieved so far has been applauded by people and the international community and created public trust.

Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam has pursued the two tasks of disease prevention and economic development, but the government’s first priority is to protect people’s health and lives.

He agreed with ministries’ proposals on preparedness and quick, effective response to prevent the disease from spreading. Mr. Phuc called on every individual, household, and residential area to take more specific measures with quicker detection and better zoning, and be more resolute in dealing with positive and suspected cases.

The Prime Minister asked the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to prepare medical equipment needed, especially quick test kits, and allocate them to localities.

He praised the media, including the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam News Agency, for responsibly, accurately, and promptly reporting the fight against Covid-19.
