(VOVworld) – The government web portal has held an online discussion on the revision of the Civil Code to meet the demands for national development. The participants discussed new points in the draft revision of the Civil Code and clarified mechanisms specifying civil rights.

According to Duong Dang Hue, Head of the Department of Economic and Civil Law at the Ministry of Justice, the revised Civil Code not only lists ownership forms but also provides that every owner is protected equally by law: "The Civil Code must clarify every form of ownership in Vietnam, which is impossible to be done in the Constitution. We need to learn experiences from other countries. Vietnam is a democratic country. The Civil Code needs to further specify the Constitution and facilitate the implementation of rights provided in the Constitution".
