The statistics were released Friday at the 8th Conference on Industry and Trade in Southern Provinces and Cities in 2022.

14 of the 20 southern provinces and cities registered higher growth rate than the national level, such as Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Can Tho city, Tra Vinh, and Soc Trang. Industrial production index in the reviewed period grew higher than the same period last year.

At the conference, delegates proposed strengthen management of imports and petroleum, promote renewable energy development, consolidate border markets, and accelerate e-commerce development.
