The 14.8m high statue, cast from 150 tonnes of bronze, shows Buddha Sakyamuni sitting on a lotus throne, preaching. The statue is a valuable spiritual and cultural edifice in Nam Dinh City. The Giant Buddha is of great significance to the Truc Lam Thien Truong Buddhist Pagoda, inaugurated on the same day.
