Social beneficiaries and ethnic minorities benefit from Tet caring programs

(VOVWORLD) -  The Voice of Vietnam in central region and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, BIDV, in Da Nang City have granted 250 gifts for Co Tu ethnic people in the Quang Nam province’s Dong Giang and Nam Giang Districts.

Each gift set include cash and basic staples for Tet. The local people suffered heavily from severe floods and storms last year. Zo Ram Ben, a local from Nam Giang District, told VOV: “I am thankful for the Tet gift which will help ensure a joyful traditional New Year celebration.”

The Ho Chi Minh City’s Fatherland Front granted 6 new houses to poor families. Nguyen Van Ton from District 4 received 60 million Vietnamese Dong to build his new house.

“It’s amazing to receive State support so that we could build our new home. I am grateful to the support,” said Ton. 

The Women’s Union in Da Nang City’s Lien Chieu District launched a festival to cook the traditional square sticky rice cakes for soldiers on duty and people in need.
