The revolution rallied Russian workers, farmers, and mass people to rise up to overthrow the bourgeoisie class and reactionaries to set up the Soviet Union State – the first state of workers and farmers in the world.

In an article titled “Good preparation and organization of the 13th National Party Congress to bring the country to a new development period,” Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong noted “The consistent ideology of the entire Party, people, and army is to be persistent with and creatively apply Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Though, to be persistent to the goal of national independence and socialism, and to be persistent to the Party’s renovation to build and safeguard the Vietnamese nation and socialism. These are vital to the regime and a firm foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam.”

Great victories in Vietnam’s struggles for national liberation and socialism building, particularly in the nearly 35 years of renewal, have proven the Russian October Revolution’s historical significance and values to the Vietnamese revolution. They are vivid evidence for the correctness of the revolutionary path selected by the the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh, and Vietnamese people.

Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Viet Thao, former Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics said: "The great historical values of the Russian October Revolution in 1917 have been proven in the world history. The revolution resulted in the establishment of the Soviet Union State of workers, farmers, soldiers and mass people of Russia. It is a socialist social regime. The victory of the Russian October revolution and the foundation of the Soviet Union State mean that capitalism is not anymore the sole force in the global politics and economy but stays alongside with socialism."

The success of the Russian October Revolution encouraged Vietnamese workers, farmers, and mass people to rise up to overthrow the colonial rule and wrest back their administration. The August Revolution 1945 was the vivid evidence. Professor Doctor Ta Ngoc Tan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, said:  "The great achievements of the Russian October Revolution in Soviet Union member countries and the collapse of the socialism system globally in 1991 are the important lessons for us on the path to socialism. We need to continue to creatively apply Marxism Leninism and lessons learned from other countries to promote our national construction and development."
