Overseas Vietnamese contribute to national vaccine fund |
Meanwhile, about 4,400 USD was collected during a fundraising ceremony calling for donations to Vietnam’s national COVID-19 vaccine fund at the Vietnamese embassy in Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Le Huy Hoang said it is a modest contribution from Vietnamese people living and working in Mozambique. The fund aims to mobilize all social resources for the purchase of vaccines as well as for research, development and production of domestic vaccines.
At a similar event held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada, the Embassy’s staff and Vietnamese representative offices in the country donated one day’s salary to the fund.
