The conference aims to reach consensus on the structure and number of candidates nominated by central organisations for the upcoming elections. National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan emphasized the importance of preparation steps in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic:
'Democratic discussion will produce inputs for the structure of candidates nominated by central organisations for the upcoming 15th National Assembly elections. In the context of the pandemic, the National Election Council Office will prepare contingency plans for areas under quarantine so that the deadline could be met by February 17, or 95 days before the election date as required by law.' said Ngan.
