On June 11 the same year, on the occasion of 1,000 days of the southern struggle, President Ho Chi Minh released an appeal for patriotic emulation, aiming to eliminate hunger, illiteracy, and foreign invaders. His appeal has inspired and encouraged the entire Party, army, and people to uphold patriotic tradition, self-reliance, and staunchness to contribute to national liberation.
