Le Truong Giang, Director of the Hung Temple relic site in Phu Tho province, the land of Vietnamese ancestors, said: “Thursday, the leaders will practice incense burning ritual in the Upper Temple. There will be no poem recital. Phu Tho advises people to prepare a tray of offerings to the ancestors on the 10th day of the third lunar month. This is a good way to honor our ancestors amid concerns about Covid-19 epidemic.”

On the occasion, the Vietnam Ancestral Global Day Project will organize an online celebration. The event will include a contest to write stories or make video clips to express patriotism, love for the motherland and experience of overseas Vietnamese supporting each other in misfortune. All Vietnamese at home and abroad as well as foreigners are eligible to join the contest by posting their stories or videos on their Facebook walls and sharing them on the Fanpage “Vietnam Ancestral Global Day” from April 2 to May 31.

The Hung Kings’ death anniversary, which falls on April 2 this year, is a national holiday, when all Vietnamese promote great national unity to generate strength for national construction and defense.
