The exhibition, showcasing 200 paintings, sculptures, and architectural works in different media owned by the Museum or private individuals and organizations, provides a brief introduction to the modern development of Vietnam’s fine arts, for which the cradle training institution was the Indochina Fine Arts College. The exhibition will close in March.

Another exhibition opened at the Hanoi Museum the same day displays more than 100 works inspired by Hanoi by Bui Xuan Phai, a pioneer of modern Vietnamese painting. Phai's works are exhibited in three sections: "Phai’s Streets", "Phai’s Cheo" (traditional Vietnamese opera) and "Phai and Friends", using 3D mapping technology and multimedia, including light and sound systems, to create an immersive space. The exhibition “Bui Xuan Phai and Hanoi” will run until October 25.

Bui Xuan Phai was a world-class Vietnamese painter who rose to fame with his paintings of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
