At a press conference on “The Ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians”, the Organizing Board said the Conference will draw nearly 500 delegates including 300 international delegates from 80 delegations representing international parliamentary agencies, forums and youth organizations.
It will be comprised of 3 sessions focusing on digital transformation, innovation and startups, and promoting respect for cultural diversity for sustainable development. Vu Hai Ha, Head of the NA’s External Relations Committee, said: “The Vietnamese NA’s hosting of the “Ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians” in 2023 is an important external relations event, reflecting Vietnam’s active, responsible, and proactive participation in the international community’s largest inter-parliamentary organization. It also shows Vietnam’s attention to the youth and global youth issues. This is part of activities to realize Directive 25 of the Party Central Committee’s Sectariat on promoting multilateral diplomacy until 2030 and youth development strategy in the 2021‑2030 period.”
Ziena Hial, Director of the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s “Young Parliamentarians Program” stressed the importance of the Conference's agenda and expressed her confidence in Vietnam's successful hosting of the event.
