The University of Social Sciences, the Hanoi National University, and the MICA International Studies Institute spent 30 years collecting and preserving lingual sound of 11 ethnic minority groups which are on the verge of extinction. With help from French experts, Vietnamese researchers digitalized the lingual sound and set up an audio library in Southeast Asia. Tran Tri Doi is Director of the Research Center of Ethnic Minority Groups of the Hanoi National University: “The library preserves voices including languages and audio files of folk songs of ethnic minority languages. This library can be used as a tool to promote language and culture of an ethnic group”.
