(VOVworld) – A teleconference on measures to prevent human flu and measles took place in Hanoi on Sunday. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Ministry of Health said that although no cases of AH7N9 avian flu have been reported, possibilities of an outbreak are high. Vietnam has recorded two deaths of AH5N1 avian flu so far this year. 64 AH5N1 outbreaks have been reported and flu virus can be transferred to humans anytime. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the relevant ministries and localities to timely detect new cases of avian flu and viral strains and to prepare measures to cope with any contingency.
Concerning the spread of measles in many provinces and cities, the Ministry of Health said although this disease is not malignant, the rate of complication and death is high.
Deputy Prime Minister Dam asked the health sector to reestablish mobile vaccination teams and organize mobile emergency teams to quickly address side effects from immunization.
