The report provides multi-dimensional impact assessment on the occasion of the World Innovation Day on April 21. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said that Vietnam’s innovation has made 9% of the GDP with the government’s eyeing up to 30% of the GDP coming from innovation industry. He emphasized on the government’s priority in innovation and technological investment for social solution, national branding and development.
Mr. Dong said: "Comprehensive changes in economic structures and global governance due to the pandemic have made innovation and science a decisive factor in national competitiveness. The NIC covering 99 hectares of land provides an ecosystem nurturing innovation and business start-up. The Ministry of Planning and Investment has cooperated with international partners to realize the Party guidelines and State policies to promote innovation."
