Vietnam took on Thailand Tuesday night in the fifth match of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers. Both sides were determined and created many chances but no goal was scored. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Midfielder Trong Hoang fouled Supachok and drew a yellow card, which means he will be suspended for the next match against Malaysia, having drawn a yellow card in Vietnam’s first Malaysia match in My Dinh stadium.

Trong Hoang’s absence will be a serious loss for Vietnam as his great stamina has made him a key player in Vietnam’s defensive line under coach Park Hang-seo.

Van Hau, Duy Manh, and Tien Linh are also facing suspension with 1 yellow card each. They will have to be cautious about collisions.

Tuesday’s match was the last game of the year for the Vietnam national team, who ranks 1st with 11 points after 5 matches, followed by Malaysia with 9 points. Thailand is in 3rd place with 8 points.
