These days, the mutual affection and support to combat the COVID-19 pandemic have, once again, been prevailing nationwide.

Food has been donated to quarantined residential areas; hotels have volunteered to turn into quarantine locations; benefactors and artists have raised funds to relieve burden within communities. People seem to have adjusted to the distancing requirements by minimizing travels as a response to the Government’s call.

Nguyen Thi Huyen, a resident in Hanoi, said: “My family has been well aware of how to prevent the new corona virus. We aren’t too worried. The disease will likely peak in the next one to two weeks, but I strongly believe it will be pushed back by the Government’s efforts and the responsibility of each individual and family.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced millions of students and pupils nationwide to stay at home.

In addition to joining online or televised courses with their children, many parents have taken advantage of this period to instruct them to do housework.

Citizens in the northern border province of Quang Ninh province have responded well to the fight against COVID-19.

Le Thi Huong from Ha Long City, for example, has run a small steamed rolled rice pancake restaurant for a decade. Although her business has been seriously affected by the pandemic, she has donated hundreds of breakfast sets to medical workers and quarantined people in the provincial Special Quarantine Hospital No 2.

“We hope to encourage healthcare professionals and quarantined people. We will continue to do all we can in this battle against COVID-19,” Huong said.

Four-star Bao Minh Radiant hotel in Ha Long City has offered free accommodation services for 157 quarantined foreign guests. 

“The quarantined foreigners have showed gratitude to our hotel, to Quang Ninh province, and to Vietnam. We want to send a message that only when the nation is safe, we can really be safe," said Bui Thi Thuy Hanh, the hotel’s Director.

"With the current complicated development of COVID-19, I hope that everybody will contribute to the battle depending on their own capacity to quickly repel the disease.”
