(VOVWORLD) - May 19 is the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. Each year, this occasion draws visitors from all over the country to his hometown in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.

Visitors burn incense to express their respect and gratitude to the great leader who devoted his life to national independence and freedom. Standing under the simple thatched roof by a hibiscus fence, many visitors feel moved and proud of Uncle Ho. 

"I’m overwhelmed by emotions and memories of President Ho Chi Minh," said a visitor.

"I visit President Ho Chi Minh's hometown to honor his contributions. We always look up to him and follow his example," said another visitor.

For a group of students from Do Luong district, Nghe An province, visiting President Ho Chi Minh's hometown was a return to the source of something sacred. Even though they had only heard stories about him, it was a journey back to cherished memories. Two representatives of the group said:

"Trips like this educate students about the life of President Ho Chi Minh and inspire them to focus more on their studies and ultimately contribute to national development."

“Ho Chi Minh’s love for people deeply inspires me. Living and studying in his hometown makes me grateful and proud. I promise to honor his legacy by focusing on my studies and being a responsible citizen.”

Tour guide Nguyen Kim Thanh understands deeply the nation’s profound love for President Ho Chi Minh after spending years at the Kim Lien Relic Area sharing her inspiring stories with millions of visitors.

"For every Vietnamese, visiting Uncle Ho’s hometown feels like coming back to their own. Being in Uncle Ho’s house is like being at home. They feel a sense of warmth that motivates them to live, study, and work harder," she said.
