Nearly 80 members of the voluntary club of Vietnam National Museum of History are pupils, students from universities and high schools in Hanoi. They share the same interest in national history and culture. After 2 months, the club members have effectively publicized their activities through their writing and short films. Le Vu Thuy Hau, a third-year student at Hanoi Foreign Trade University expressed her wish to enrich her historical knowledge by taking part in the club: "It is very important to preserve and develop the culture of a country. I think that Vietnam, like other countries, has its own typical culture and I want to introduce our culture to the world. If I have a chance to study overseas in the future, I will be more self-confident about introducing our culture to foreign friends, if I know enough about it".

The club is not only a place for students to learn more about the national history and culture through the museum’s objects, but also offers them the chance to meet and exchange ideas with well-known historians as well as improve their foreign language skills through meeting foreign visitors and volunteers. For Nghiem Thu Ha, in her final year student of French faculty at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, participating in the club is a chance to deepen her knowledge: "Students are not usually interested in Vietnam’s history. Our major is foreign language,  so we don’t learn much about Vietnam’s culture and history. I think these activities are useful in helping us understand more of Vietnam’s culture and history".

Bui Minh Duc, a student of Hanoi University said that participation as a volunteer member of the Museum’s club is a good way to learn more about national culture and history: "Activities of the club should be more flexible encouraging more young people to get passionate about this field. It should include lessons about history and culture that appeal to younger people. Secondly, the club’s activities should be well and frequently organized, supporting its members in nurturing their passion for history".

Phan Thu Ha, a 4th year student of the National Economic University said participating in the club helps her improve her knowledge about history and culture, and the skill of making plans, writing reports and make more friends. Ha said the club faces many difficulties but they don't obstruct their passion for history: "It’s difficult to educate young people about history. Sometimes, I don’t know how to overcome that problem. But we are young, the more difficult it is, the more we want to conquer it".

Ha says the museum is a good place for young people to improve their knowledge. To Thi Thuy Lam, Head of the club and Deputy Head of the Communication Department of the Museum said the club members are dynamic ambassadors of the museum: "Those students are very keen on history and love museums. This is the first voluntary club established by the museum. The club’s members are young ambassadors who raise their voice about preservation and development of national cultural and historical values".

Following the models of “I love history” and “History lesson” clubs, the voluntary club of the museum has created a useful play ground for young people to take part in historical and cultural activities.
