“This is the first time I’ve been nominated by the Lam Dong authorities and people as a candidate for the National Assembly. This is a great honor for me and a significant responsibility,” Ly Thai Tuyen said.
Tuyen was born in 1981 into a Cham family with a strong cultural tradition in Bac Binh commune, where 49 ethnic groups live together. The daughter of Meritorious Artisan Lam Tan Binh, she developed at an early age a love of traditional crafts and a passion to preserve her family’s cultural heritage and contribute to safeguarding and promoting the ethnic cultural values of Lam Dong province.
Tuyen has 23 years of experience working in the cultural sector, with expertise in management, advisory work, and cultural heritage research. According to Doan Van Thuan, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Museum, her nomination is a source of pride for the museum.
“Tuyen’s nomination is well deserved. The honor will motivate her to continue contributing to the development of the culture, sports and tourism sector,” Thuan said.
In her action program for the National Assembly, Tuyen said she aims to represent the voices of ethnic minority communities and focus on preserving and promoting traditional culture. She said socio-economic development in Lam Dong province has been uneven. Although the number of poor and near-poor households has declined in recent years, the remainder is concentrated in ethnic minority areas.
If elected, Tuyen plans to propose that the National Assembly accelerate the integration of three existing national target programs: new rural development, sustainable poverty reduction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.

Tuyen said she will also propose greater investment in developing cultural values and strengths and promoting the image of the people of Lam Dong as elegant and hospitable. She advocates speeding up the digitalization of cultural heritage to ensure its long-term preservation, expand public access to it, and enhance its value in the digital era. That effort, she said, should be linked to the development of cultural tourism and community-based tourism, which will allow local people to participate and build sustainable livelihoods.
“I feel a responsibility to fulfill the commitments made in my action program and to respond effectively to the concerns and aspirations of the public. That pressure will motivate me to continue improving myself. If I’m elected to the 16th National Assembly, I’ll strive to turn the honor of being nominated into a drive to carry out my commitments,” Tuyen said.
Tuyen is recognized as a dedicated professional with strong expertise and a commitment to the cultural sector. She has been awarded 4 province-level certificates of merit.
