“Yellow Vest” protests spread to Canada

(VOVWORLD) - The Yellow Vest movement, which originated in France last month, has spread across the Atlantic to Canada.

Protesters over the weekend took to the streets in several cities, including Edmonton, Toronto, Calgary, and Halifax, to voice their disapproval of government policies. They did not specifically support French protests, but instead focused on Canadian issues.

Global News reported that activists carried signs saying “Canada first”. They were protesting the UN Migration Pact, a non-binding agreement that Canada endorsed earlier this month, and the government’s recent adoption of a new carbon-pricing plan to address climate change.
