In response to No Tobacco Day and National Week of No Tobacco (from May 25 to 31), the Ministry of Health has called on authorities at all levels to organize activities to spread information about the risks of smoking to help reduce the number of smokers in Vietnam.
Vietnam has strictly enforced its Law on Tobacco Control over the past years. Surveys conducted in 34 cities and provinces in 2020 indicated that the number of adult smokers has reduced to 21.7% from 22.5% in 2015.
