From the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent condolences to the victims, saying the murder of civilians is striking with its cruelty and cynicism. Putin confirmed that Russia was ready to further enhance cooperation with Egypt in fighting international terrorism.
Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt Ambassador Ivan Surkos condemned the terrorist attack that targeted innocent people.
The Egyptian government has declared a three-day mourning across the nation. At least 235 people were killed when gunmen armed with explosives stormed the Al Rawdah mosque in the town of Bir al-Abed in Egypt’s North Sinai province.
