(VOVworld) – On Thursday, in Moscow the Centre for Vietnam and ASEAN Studies under the Russian Academy of Sciences held a workshop on Vietnam’s renewal experience: history and present.

More than 40 Russian experts attended the workshop, which focused on political and socio-economic reforms, history, the Vietnamese language, literature, culture, and anthropology. The participants discussed Vietnam’s socialist oriented market economy model, and the impacts of the renewal process on Vietnamese society. They said the renewal process has helped Vietnam recover from the socio-economic crisis and raise its people’s living standard to the UN standard. The experts also discussed Vietnam-Russia relations, human rights protection in the Vietnamese Constitution, and preservation of Vietnamese cultural values.
