(VOVworld) – A workshop on science and technology development for agricultural restructuring in association with new rural development opened on Saturday in Hanoi. The reports indicate that the Party and State have always attached great importance to research and technological transfer in boosting agricultural development.

Over the past 5 years, more than 200 million USD has been allocated to scientific and technological development activities at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Delegates proposed to promote scientific research and technological transfer to improve agricultural productivity. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat said: "We should not solely rely on the government investment in agriculture but have to reform policies on science and technology development, and seek solutions to improve the efficiency of state organizations. It’s important to encourage businesses to voluntarily take part in R&D activities and promote the government’s key role in this regard."
