Le Hai Binh, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission, addressed a Hanoi seminar on sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy.
“The development of the marine economy plays a significant role in achieving the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress. Resolution 36 adopted in 2018 on "Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045" has set out goals, aiming to turn Vietnam into a powerful marine country, with sustainable and safe development of the marine economy."
"The Politburo has recently issued a series of Resolutions on socio-economic development for sea-related areas. All of these resolutions have set specific goals,” Binh said.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Bao Son, Deputy Director General of Hanoi National University, emphasized the strategic position of Vietnam’s sea and islands and said marine economic development must be harmonious and consistent with the set goals.
“Policies for sustainable development of the marine economy aim to effectively capitalize on the ocean's potential, contributing to building Vietnam into a powerful marine country. Marine economic development policies also need to be consistent with regional and global situation, and must harmonize economic development and achieving other goals,” Son added.
