The W20 is a G20 group focused on promoting gender equality and women’s economic empowerment. The two-day inception meeting, a 10-year milestone of the W20, convenes delegates from government, business, academia, and civil society.

As president of the G20, South Africa set an agenda for the meeting that includes investment in the care economy, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion, and a stance against gender-based violence and femicide.
