The event, the first of its kind, was co-organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the World Bank in Vietnam, and the World Wide Fund for Nature in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan said the event acknowledged conservation initiatives and solutions and encouraged further contributions to the protection of biodiversity.

On behalf of the honored organizations, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Truong of the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources said first program is an occasion for society to think about the work of scientists and conservationists.
