(VOVWORLD) - On Monday, the VOV Coastal Traffic Channel began broadcasting in Da Nang city on FM 91 MHz to help coastal residents and drivers navigate Vietnam’s coastal routes.

The launch has been warmly received by local listeners:

"With this new radio channel, I feel more confident when setting out to sea. The timely updates from VOV’s Coastal Traffic Channel help us plan our trips, avoid storms and strong winds. For fishermen like us, even a single warning could save an entire voyage."

"With the VOV Coastal Traffic Channel app, I can listen to  updates while driving and avoid unexpected traffic jams. For long-haul drivers, even a quick alert about an accident or congestion just a few kilometers ahead can save us from an extra hour on the road. This app helps save time, and eases the stress during the journey."

Colonel Hoang Van Man, Political Commissar of Da Nang City’s Border Guard Command, said: "We expect the VOV Coastal Traffic Channel to serve as a vital source of information, enabling Border Guard forces to promptly update on weather conditions, rough seas, and maritime incidents."

"During the storm season, in particular, timely alerts from the channel will make rescue coordination more proactive and effective, while providing crucial support to fishermen in distress offshore. We believe it will become a trusted partner in protecting national sovereignty and ensuring the safety of those who head out to sea," said Colonel Man.

On June 10, the National VOV Traffic Department launched a trial broadcast of its fourth version, VOV Coastal Traffic. Apart from updates on weather, maritime traffic safety, and inland–coastal transportation, the VOV Coastal Traffic also features engaging stories about the ocean, as well as the economic, cultural, and social life of coastal communities.

The VOV Coastal Traffic is available at vovgiaothong.vn and on YouTube channel of VOV Traffic.
