In April next year VinFast will launch three electric car models in a market of 1.4 billion people, India's Economic Times reported on Tuesday.

The first model VinFast will introduce there, according to the Economic Times, is the VF e-34, a small crossover SUV. Subsequently, the VF e-36, VF6, and VF7 models will be assembled in India, before commencing domestic production. VinFast is currently preparing to manufacture right-hand drive models specifically for the Indian market.

VinFast views India as a key market for right-hand drive vehicles, particularly considering a projected focus on Asia in the global automobile market over the next 3 to 5 years. Recently, VinFast leaders met with 25 auto retailers in India to discuss establishing dealerships in the third-largest automobile market in the world. The company has already initiated recruitment for its planned office in Gurgaon city, in the state of Haryana.

VinFast has yet to determine the exact location for their first factory in India. Initially, the factory will have a capacity of 50,000 units per year, and production will eventually increase to 200,000 to 300,000 units per year.

The states of Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are under consideration as potential production bases, while Maharashtra state is also making efforts to attract investment from VinFast.
