Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh noted significant progress in bilateral trade since the pact came into effect.
“The agreement has secured uninterrupted free trade between Vietnam and the UK and offered many incentives to boost bilateral trade. The UK’s import tax on Vietnamese goods will be slashed by as much as 99.2% within 6 years," said Mr. Khanh.
"Many Vietnamese products, particularly farm exports, have made full use of the trade pact over the past year. Geographical indications of popular Vietnamese products like Ban Me Thuot coffee and Phu Quoc fish sauce have been protected in the UK,” he said.
The conference was jointly organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the British Embassy in Hanoi.
