In April, Vietnam exported 550,000 tons of rice worth more than 270 million USD. The Philippines continued to be Vietnam's largest rice consumption market, buying 42.6% of its exported rice.
The country whose purchase of Vietnamese rice grew the most since the beginning of the year was Ivory Coast. The African nation’s imports of rice from Vietnam were up 76% over the same period in 2021.
Vietnam's rice exports are expected to grow in the coming months in China, Bangladesh, Iran, and Sri Lanka.
