Vietnam’s public security forces tighten ties with European police

(VOVworld) - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, led a delegation to work with the European Police Office (EUROPOL) last week. Addressing the event on Monday, EUROPOL Deputy Director Oldrich Martin affirmed that EUROPOL respects and wants to work with Vietnam’s public security forces and law enforcement agencies. He spoke highly of joint work between the Vietnamese Ministry and EUROPOL member countries.

Deputy Minister Thanh hailed the European Police Office as the Ministry of Public Security’s close international partner in the fight against crime. He agreed with Mr. Oldrich Martin that the Vietnamese Ministry and EUROPOL will soon sign a cooperation agreement. On Friday, the Senior Lieutenant General worked with several EU agencies in Brussels, Belgium.
