Vietnam’s legislature wants continued substantive, effective cooperation with Russia

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said Russia is one of the most important and priority partners in Vietnam's foreign policy and the National Assembly wants to continue substantive and effective cooperation with Russia in all fields for mutual benefit.

Mr. Hue received Andrey Yatskin, First Deputy Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council and Chairman of the Council’s Cooperation Group with the Vietnamese National Assembly, who is on a working visit to Hanoi.

At the meeting, both leaders agreed to soon finalize a draft to re-sign the cooperation agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Federation Council  of Russia.

They pledged to strengthen economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries in a practical and effective manner, especially in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food. In addition, the two sides agreed to reopen flight routes soon after the COVID-19 pandemic to promote tourism cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and economic cooperation, to meet the needs of investors, businesses, and citizens of the two countries.

Earlier, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien received a delegation of Russia’s Federal Assembly members led by Andrey Yatskin.
