(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s health sector is capable of diagnosing, treating, and curing patients infected with acute respiratory disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (nCoV), Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son said Tuesday.

He warned that the number of nCoV cases will soar. By Tuesday, three coronavirus patients including one Chinese national have been discharged from hospital in Vietnam.

At border gates, people coming from nCoV-affected areas and those showing symptoms are being quarantined.

At a conference in Hanoi on Monday, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, head of the national steering committee for nCoV-caused disease prevention and control, said agencies and localities must stay proactive in preventing and controlling the virus.
