The nationwide fundraising drive, held to mark the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year and the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, has received enthusiastic support from millions of Vietnamese.
On Thursday, the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRCS), the campaign’s organizer, issued a letter of gratitude, stating that the overwhelming response is a vivid testament to the special bond of solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples.
The contributions, it said, are not only a valuable source of assistance to help Cuba overcome difficulties, stabilize livelihoods, and continue its development, but also a symbol of spiritual strength that preserves and nurtures the enduring Vietnam-Cuba solidarity in all circumstances.
The campaign will continue until October 16. Contributions can be made through multiple channels, including workplace and community collections, QR code bank transfers to the VRCS, public donation boxes, mobile apps like Thien Nguyen and Viettel Money, the VRCS website, and creative school activities such as letter-writing campaigns and “small plan” fundraising to support Cuban children.
