Vietnam's agricultural export turnover has reached more than 40 billion dollars, ranking 2nd in Southeast Asia. The Prime Minister reiterated the farming’s important role in social economic development: “The farming industry should rekindle national aspiration to become one of top 15 agricultural powerhouses in the world and top 10 among agricultural processing industries. We should try to become the world leading processing hubs of wooden furniture and forestry products with agricultural export revenue of up to 43 billion dollars.”

The Prime Minister also called for practical measures to promote new rural development to improve people’s living standards.
