The two leaders then led high-ranking delegations to convene talks to review cooperation results over the past years and identify orientations for further strengthening bilateral strategic partnership.
They agreed on major orientations to boost bilateral ties, including strengthening the exchange of high-level visits, promoting cooperation in national defense, transnational crimes prevention and control, energy and food security while closely consulting each other in regional and international fora. Following their talks, both leaders witnessed the signing and exchanges of cooperative documents in mining and energy, combating terrorism and transnational and drug-related crimes.

Both agreed to upgrade bilateral strategic partnership. President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: “The two sides agreed to strengthen the exchange of high-level visits, effectively implement cooperation mechanisms and the joint committee on bilateral cooperation. Both sides consented to soon bring bilateral trade turnover to US$15 billion and by 2028 and beyond towards sustainability and balance."
"Both agreed to create favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to diversify investment fields and develop digital economy, promote digital transformation, green economy, renewable energy, tourism, services, and increase flights. The two will strengthen cooperation in national defense, security and maritime issues, people-to-people exchange, and connections between localities and businesses,” said President Phuc.
On international and regional issues, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Indonesian counterpart agreed to bolster cooperation at regional and international forums, especially those of ASEAN and the United Nations, and shared views on a number of regional and international issues of shared concern, including the East Sea.
Vietnam and Indonesia will work together to promote a united and self-reliant ASEAN, enhance the regional bloc's central role, maintain ASEAN's common stance on the East Sea, and ensure peace, safety, security and freedom of navigation and overflight on the basis of International Law and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS.)
In the afternoon, President Widodo held a state banquet to welcome the Vietnamese President. Earlier in the morning, President Phuc laid a wreath at the Monument of Heroes in Jakarta.
